BEARDED HORSE - @beardedhorse - www.beardedhorse.com

'Hello, my name is Sean. I'm an indie artist on instagram under the name Beardedhorse, as well as a Mathematician, Dungeon Master, Writer, and silly human being. I could say I first started drawing in order to process the trauma of a dramatic and messy break-up, but the truth is I've been quietly creative my whole life. What I've always wanted is to be able to tell stories and while I first started my instagram page with sad, angsty drawings to vent my low mood and anxiety, the real spark of ignition was when I decided to tell the story of aforementioned dramatic breakup'

GEORGIE MAC - @hellogeorgiemac

'I am a non-binary visual artist based in Glasgow.  I make zines that explore the realms of hyper-niche fan art and mythology. My work is full of hybrid animals, fearsome fungi, and Fine Art Furbys.   I focus on pen and ink drawing, accompanied with original text and story. I LOVE to print my work using Risograph! Which combines beautifully dreamy colour overlays, with the excitement and unpredictability of traditional printing methods. My Riso-printed Ghost Zine was a bestseller at last year’s Glasgow Zine Fest. I would love the opportunity to expand the reach of my work beyond Scotland, and bring my zines to Kendal'

New World Soul issue #1 is the product of a billion years of evolution, hand made by chimps using a mixture of faecal matter and pure gold.

FOLDED ZINE - @foldedzine - foldedzine.com

'Folded' is a space to share, connect and uplift - created by and for young people in Kendal and the South Lakes. It was started out of a desire to create a collaborative and creative collective between young people. The idea behind Folded is to show the work of, and build a community of writers, artists, actors, musicians and makers alike. We think it's time the mic was passed to the creators of the Rural North. Folded is a strand of the FOLD, a project which use co-design principles with an aim to encourage participation, empower, share knowledge and build collaborations. The FOLD is made possible by commissioning from Great Place Lakes and Dales "one of 16 National schemes placing art, heritage and culture at the heart of our future and at the centre of Grasmere - Skipton corridor"

NICK GONZO - @thenickgonzo - thenickgonzo.bigcartel.com

'What is a Zine? Where do they come from? Who makes them? What are they for?

In an hour Nick Gonzo, zine maker and creator of the `Leeds based social club Zineophilia will attempt to cover all of these subjects as well as talk at length on a number of tangents surrounding the social history of zines.

Starting with the invention of the printing press and ending about five minutes before the presentation begins we will chart the movement of the zine through time and bring together Mr `Spock, Atheism, Russian literature, punk rock, the Harlem Renaissance, Mr Natural the Naturist, Bratmobile, and Naruto.

Content Warning; as we will be discussing history, especially relating to under represented and minority culture, there will be minor mentioning of racism, sexism, and homophobia'

DELIGHTFUL ZINES - @delightfulzines - dottydelightful.com

'I am a full time artist and seasonal and cyclical publication maker, I have a BA hons degree in fine art and facilitate a membership called Wild Creative Woman. I love to help women by moving towards, living the life of our dreams, and through playing, creating and growing in all sorts of authentic ways.

I love to inspire and encourage people to see the magic everywhere, even in seemingly mundane moments. I know deep in my heart that everyone has the chance to live a most wonderful life full of joy, love and ease, including YOU!

By sharing, through creativity, words and nature, I intend to help you see, hear and feel the magic all around us and realise the magic that is already inside you.

Everything we need comes from nature, it is good for our wellbeing and mental health, it is a healer, a guide, it is the centre of all life. Some people have become detached from nature, and I feel it is my mission to help people become connected again'

GEORGE COLLINS - @georgecollinsphoto - georgecollins.photo

His work is held in several private collections. His writing about photography has been published on international blogs. George teaches both analogue and digital photography to adults and young people’

JO COLLIER - @massdecoration

'I am pretty new to zine making and this would be my first experience of tabling at a ZineFest. The zines I make are very much in the DIY-style as my interest is more about making a zine to explore an idea or personal experience for myself. I have recently started to make fabric collage zines which explore an emotion through abstract patches of fabric. I have also begun to learn how to print with the intention of including this within my zines. I am interested in using the print techniques to overprinting images to create a layering of related and unrelated images. If offered the opportunity to table to Kendal Zine Festival I will bring fabric zines. I also expect by the time of the Kendal Zine festival that I will have made zines that incorporate my new skills in printing to explore ideas through collage of images’

MOON SQUID INK - @moonsquidink - moonsquid.ink

'I am a watercolour comic and picture book maker, with original pieces, prints, plush toys, pins, stickers, and bags!’

AUTUMN ILLUSTRATION - @autumn.illustration - autumnillustration.com

‘I am a freelance illustrator, printmaker and creator from Kendal in The Lake District, England.
I am primarily a black-line, pen and ink illustrator, who uses fine liners to create my illustrations. I have recently delved into the world of digital art, using Procreate to produce my work. My inspiration comes from the people that I have met over the years while travelling and also the beauty and complexity of nature'
Instead of following the mainstream education route, I spent some time hitching around protest sites and communities across the UK, living in various dwellings such as vans, benders, buses, treehouses, and caravans. While in these spaces I was away from the confines of technology and used my days creatively: cooking, drawing, and gardening. The people I met over those years have all inspired my illustrations in one way or another: be it the characters themselves or the ability to draw organically’
